In its centenary year, Southgate RFC is moving its mini and senior rugby from its home at the Walker Ground, Southgate, to Broomfield Park, Palmers Green, for the 2026/27 season.
North London’s friendliest and most social rugby club has made Broomfield Park, Palmers Green its new home, for both training and matches, catering for boys and girls aged 3 to 12, and for adult rugby players of all standards, including vets.
Southgate RFC was formed in 1926, and has played its rugby at the Southgate cricket ground for almost two decades, but with a thriving mini section, and senior sides at both adult and vets level, it has moved to Palmers Green.
“We love the Walker Ground, it means a lot to us, but to be front and centre in Palmers Green, bringing mini and senior rugby to Broomfield Park for the first time is going to be huge for both us and the area,” says Alex Mead, chair, Southgate RFC. “We’ve previously only trained there in the summer, but we’ll be bringing all our matches for all levels – U7s through to seniors and vets – to Palmers Green, hopefully making them a fixture for locals to come and watch, or even get involved as a player, coach or volunteer.”
The club is focused on social-first rugby, providing a rugby home for players of all backgrounds, and of all abilities. If you or your child would like to try rugby for the first time, Southgate RFC is the perfect rugby club for you.
